Description
This boldly decorated porcelain bowl with monkeys and traditional Delft blue details is part of the Sharing Moments collection by Janny van der Heijden. Known for being the host of the Dutch version of The Great British bake Off and a passionate collector of Delft blue porcelain. Together with Heinen Delfts Blauw she launched her own tableware collection with the name Sharing Moments. The first edition of the collection was all about lush tulips and bold stripes, but now the collection has a new extension and it is all about monkeys! A subject that was popular on Dutch tableware four hundred years ago. “Monkey business is a synonym for pulling pranks and for imitating human behaviour”, says Janny about her new design. “The playful monkeys on the new tableware set for Heinen Delfts Blauw brings a smile to your face. This theme of monkeys in funny situations has been a popular décor on porcelain for over four hundred years and we love to bring them back to the dining table. In Asia they often decorate porcelain with monkeys as a symbol for wisdom and a long life.” The addition to the existing collection proofs to be a perfect match with the lush tulips. The porcelain bowl is decorated on the inside with a more traditional Delft blue pattern, while the outside of the bowl has a modern decoration filled with climbing monkeys, exotic flowers and branches. The porcelain bowl is dishwasher, oven and microwave proof. The Sharing Moments collection has the sub collections Tulip and Monkeys and is created by Janny van der Heijden and Heinen Delfts Blauw.
