Redmer Hoekstra's Artistic Vision for Heinen Delfts Blauw

Redmer Hoekstra is a visual artist and illustrator who designed five unique wall plates for Heinen Delfts Blauw using fineliner on paper. Redmer studied at the Art Academy in Zwolle, specializing in visual arts and illustration. His creative and inspiring illustrations stem from his distinctive view of the modern world. As a child, Redmer already had strong opinions about how the world worked, and he has translated these ideas into beautiful illustrations.

Designers Collaborating with Heinen Delfts Blauw

Heinen Delfts Blauw frequently collaborates with well-known Dutch designers and celebrities to develop new and unique products. Over the years, we’ve worked with various designers such as Richard Hutten, Geke Lensink, and Jacob Baan. Currently, we are collaborating with Debbie Wijskamp, Redmer Hoekstra, and Janny van der Heijden. Each designer brings their own style, which we combine with Heinen Delfts Blauw’s modern Delft blue products.

These unique Delft blue mugs will make you smile and reflect, adding a playful twist to your zodiac sign. Above all, they are simply delightful Delft blue mugs featuring the zodiac signs!

Redmer Hoekstra's work is marked by a surreal world full of humor. Animals and nature are often the subjects of his illustrations, combined with elements from the human world. “I associate based on shape, meaning, and function, which leads to new combinations. Often surprising and funny, but also with a strange kind of logic. Unusual shapes like the tulip vase and beautiful Delft blue patterns gave me a lot of inspiration.”

Each wall plate is different, but they are all well-combined because the animals exist in the same absurd world where anything seems possible.
