While designing her collection she carefully thought about the decoration and the shape of the pieces but equally important is how user friendly the collection is. A tea cup has to rest gently in your hand and a teapot has to pour the tea without spilling or losing it’s lid. A well thought out design makes you enjoy your moments even more. The collection ‘Monkeys’ is part of the earlier released collection Sharing Moments, where lush tulips and bold stripes are part of the design. “Monkey business is a synonym for pulling pranks and for imitating human behaviour”, says Janny about her new design. “The playful monkeys on the new tableware set for Heinen Delfts Blauw brings a smile to your face. This theme of monkeys in funny situations has been a popular décor on porcelain for over four hundred years and we love to bring them back to the dining table. In Asia they often decorate porcelain with monkeys as a symbol for wisdom and a long life.” The porcelain tea cup has Delft blue dots, exotic flowers, palm leaves and funny monkeys.
