Heinen Delfts Blauw

Dearest gentle reader ...,

It is with great pleasure that I can inform you that the eye-catching collection of the family-owned Heinen Delfts Blauw company, is now available to the rest of the ton.

Prepare yourself to be introduced to the latest home decorations that make our high society's mouths water and our hearts quicken. A collection that demands our attention: the prestigious home decorations from one of the world's leading Delft blue manufacturers. As these radiant products make their debut, they are surrounded by whispers and wonders about the sublime craft that brought this fascinating collection into being. One thing is certain: anyone who does not have a Heinen home decoration in their country home this season is sure to be looked down upon by the rest of the ton.

This writer cannot help but wonder for whom one tulip vase in particular was designed and why that lone, buzzing bee was given such a prominent place. Trust me, if there is a secret behind it, you will be the first to read it here.

Yours truly,

Lady Whistledown.

Decorate your home in the Bridgerton interior style

We are swooning en masse in front of the TV now that the latest season of Bridgerton has been launched. Of course for the delightful, romantic storylines, but also because of the gorgeous clothes and stately interiors that surround us with warmth, luxury and comfort. The London Regency era is known for its sumptuous and refined furniture, extravagant and decadent fabrics and patterns, and lavish floral arrangements in magnificent porcelain vases. This interior design style is becoming wildly popular again thanks to the TV series and book series, and it is surprisingly easy to add to your home!

Bridgerton colors for your home

It's very easy to add the Regency style in the Bridgerton series to your own interior. That starts by choosing typical Bridgerton colours. Beautiful powder colours such as soft blue, lilac and baby pink provide a subtle base for your Bridgerton home. If you are more a fan of the colourful life of the Featheringtons, then choose very deep, rich contrasting colours. Think oxblood red, old orange or the popular trend colour magenta. Combine these main colours with gold accents, champagne tones and radiant white porcelain. If you pay close attention to the interiors in Bridgerton, you will see that in almost every house of the ton there are large Delft blue vases. Usually these stand in the middle of a table with a large flower arrangement in it, or they are set up next to French doors or beside ornate staircases.

Beautiful vases for expensive flowers

"He sent flowers today to both of us. Expensive ones." In Bridgerton's time, a bouquet of flowers could cost a fortune. Especially tulips, which a few years earlier could cost as much as a canal house in Amsterdam. If you belonged to high society, you flaunted your wealth, which meant that those extremely expensive flowers were only put in the very best vases. In particular, the pyramid-shaped tulip vase was a popular vase to arrange your tulips in. With such a hand-painted tulip vase, you put up a pillar of flowers and thanks to the narrow spouts, each delicate flower stem got the support it needed to stay beautiful for longer. A three-piece tulip vase should therefore not be missing from a Bridgerton home, as your flower arranging skills should stand out in case the queen visits your home unexpectedly.

Animal heads on the walls

Besides lots of expensive flowers, we also see lots of nature and animals in London Regency interiors. So you see animal patterns on luxurious jacquard woven fabrics, paintings and sometimes even on the wallpaper. Animals play an important role, as a country house in nature and the accompanying hunt were also only for the most esteemed members of the ton. Hunting trophies were often hung on the wall, but not everyone feels happy about hanging a dead animal on the wall. Therefore, instead of a stuffed animal head, hanging an animal portrait on a wall plate on the wall is a nice alternative. Animal-friendly, and still a nod to the Regency tradition. Totally matching the Bridgerton theme, our latest wall plates feature gold accents and Delft blue insects including Aubrey Hall's well-known bees. These chic wall signs have only yet been spotted by Lady Whistledown, but as soon as they are available, they will no doubt be mentioned in her society papers.

Porcelain home decoration á la Bridgerton

"We shall do what women do. We shall talk." Sometimes it seems as if endless tea is drunk by the ladies of the ton. Now the tea moment is an important social occasion. Romantic callers drop by for tea, cake and a proposal, the elegant ladies of the distinguished houses seek each other out for tea and fresh gossip and, as we all know, an invitation to tea can either make or break you. Since high tea has such an important social status, a tea service says a lot about the occupants of the house. Therefore, the finest porcelain tea sets were placed on the table to show off. When the tea moment was over again, they disappeared into the display cabinet, safely behind glass but still visible. So put a beautiful antique tea table in a nice spot in the living room and place an elaborate porcelain tea set on it. Purely for decoration purposes or to use yourself during a well-deserved tea break á la Violet Bridgerton. Besides very traditional Delftware tea sets, we have also created tableware with a modern look but with the charm of yesteryear. This is how you translate Regency into the 21st century.
